Thomas A. Capel NAT: England POS: Left Wing Midfield Previous Clubs: Joined Forest: 1949 Signing fee: Left Forest: 1953 Thomas was a key member of the Forest side that won the Third Division South title in 1951. Capel was an inside left who spent more than four years at the City Ground scoring 72 goals in 162 appearances for the Reds. The scorer of 24 goals in the promotion season of 1951 including four in a 9-2 win over Gillingham at the City Ground. Alongside Walter Ardron, he and Capel forged a lethal goal scoring double act. Capel linked up well with his wing colleague Colin Collindridge and this was the key to many goals. Sadly Thomas died in early October 2009 aged 87 return to previous page |
