![]() Stuart Pearce 24/04/1962 NAT: Eng Pearcey managed the Reds for some games as temporary manager after Frank Clark resigned in December 1996, it was only to be for a few games but he ended up leading the Reds till the end of the season. He won the first game in charge against Arsenal and sparked something of a revival, as he only lost once in the next 8 League and Cup games. Psycho won the manager of the month award in his first month of the job. Unfortunately Pearces efforts were not enough to save Forest from the drop as they finished bottom of the Premiership setting some records along the way including 16 game without a win, many of these were draws which added to another Premier League record of longest unbeaten run 25 games. During that season under Pearce the clubs shareholders accepted a take over bid by Nigel Wray, Irving Scholar and Phil Soar. They immediately took over Forests debts and put 16 million pounds into the transfer kitty, which helped Dave Bassett win the Championship the following season. Pearce started his managerial career for proper at Manchester City. Stuart is now the England Under 21 coach and assistant to Capello with the senior team.
