Webb actually signed a blank contract when he joined Forest after Cloughie uses his persuasive skills over him. The wide left midfielder was a great addition to the squad although one away game at West Ham will always be associated with Webb. Forest were 2-0 down when the goalkeeper Hans Segers was injured, Webb stepped up and went in goal in those crazy days of only one substitute and Forest ended up losing 4-2, Webby's award from Cloughie was to be dropped for the next home game.

Neil scored the second goal in the League Cup win of 1989 against Luton and his creative partnership with Nigel Clough was crucial to the success Forest had at that time, he also went on to win 26 caps for England

Webb moved to Manchester United but became hampered by injuries and he eventually returned to the City Ground but sadly he couldn't recover fully and he was forced to retire.

After leaving the game Webb worked as a van driver and then a postman. He then returned to the game in a coaching role at Reading FC

Now working on the media side for Reading Football Club and contributes regularly for a sports channel in Canada called 'The Score'
