A local lad from Mansfield and the youngest and most gifted of the Dawson brothers At the start of the 2003-2004 season Dawson missed out on games due to suffering from hamstring problems and glandular fever, but once fit again, he was made captain and gave some amazing performances, winning almost every header at the heart of defence. The fans were devastated to see Michael leave for Tottenham Hotspur at a time when Forest were in financial difficulty due to the collapse of ITV Digital.
