Julian is a left back that up until the 2009-2010 season was a regular in the side although he suffered a bad knee injury on Boxing Day 2008 which kept him out for the rest of that season and the following campaign under Billy Davies creating a defensive problem that Forest couldn't solve.

Winner of the player of the year award in the 2006-2007 season at the club after some rampaging displays down the left hand side from his defensive starting position.

Bennett the local boy endeared himself to travelling away fans when he celebrated a Forest equaliser at Swindon's County Ground in 2008, he was warming up in front of the Swindons home supporters goal as he jumped around wildly nearly causing a riot and earning himself a yellow card before he'd played a minute of football for that day
