Jason Benedict Lee 09/05/1971 NAT: England POS: Striker Previous Clubs: Southend Joined Forest: 04/03/1994 Signing fee: £200.000 from Southend Left Forest: 05/02/1997, loan to Charlton, 27/03/1997, loan to Grimsby, 28/08/1998, £250.000 to Chesterfield Famous for his pineapple haircut this striker struggled during his time at the City Ground due to the attention he recieved from rival fans thanks to the terrace chants initiated by Baddiel and Skinner's Fantasy Football show on television. Lee started his career as a back up striker for Collymore and Roy, and on a few occasions during the 1994-1995 season he came on as a substitute and changed things to the point where the fans created a chant for him where the name messiah would be repeated around the City Ground. None more so than the game in March 1994 against Spurs where Forest found theirselves 1-0 down to 2-1 up in two minutes when Lee chased a long ball and beat the keeper with his head as he edged the ball goalwards. Lee looked a promising striker at times and then other occasions he would look disinterested and as if he couldn't be bothered. P/FL: 41 + 35, 14g, FLC: 4 + 3, 1g, FAC: 0 + 5 return to previous page |
