Lester had a mixed first season at Forest showing signs of brilliance but then real dissapointment scoring just once in twelve starts for the Red's. But he netted the second fastest goal ever scored at the City Ground when he shot home from the edge of the penalty area after just 14 seconds against Norwich in March 2000.

He was small for a central striker with good pace and a good workrate

Jack was another favourite with the fans who was a regular member of the squad before leaving on a free to Sheffield United before returning again a year later.
