Ian was a talented wide left or central midfielder with good passing ability and great crossing skills who had much to offer.

Woan went on to make over 200 appearances for the Reds in his ten years at Forest.

Unfortunately he was frozen out of the squad by David Platt and he declined a new one year deal at the end of the 1999-2000 season.

He went on to play for Shrewsbury Town and in America before turning to coaching. He was a first team coach alongside Paul Hart at Portsmouth.
