![]() Ian Bowyer NAT: Scotland POS: Midfield Previous Clubs: Joined Forest: 1973 Bowyer spent eight years as a Forest player, scoring 97 goals in 562 appearances, he was known to the fans as Bomber due to his no nonsense diplays from the midfield. Ian scored the only goal in the European Cup Semi-Final 2nd leg vs Cologne in 1978. Colgne had left the City Ground with a 3-3 draw in the first leg, meaning Forest had to win by a single goal and keep that important clean sheet. A stooping header from Bowyer as he lifted the ball in from the fringe of the 6 yard box ensured Forest were heading to Munich for the final for the first time in their history Bowyer later becoming first team coach under Paul Hart's reign at the City Ground. return to previous page |
