Johnno was always a fans favourite with a keen eye for goal. He had an unhappy start to the 03-04 season after breaking his leg against Sheffield United in September.

He returned to the side as a substitute against Crystal Palace still short of fitness. He then scored 5 goals in the last 4 games of the season including a double against his former side Ipswich to help save Forest from relegation.

After leaving the club he worked on his coaching badges and was playing for local side Dunkirk FC
