Charles 'Chic' Richard Thomson 02/03/1930 NAT: Scotland POS: Goalkeeper Previous Clubs: Chelsea, Clyde Joined Forest: 1957 Signing fee: Left Forest: 1960 Chic was the son of a professional goalkeeper and began his own career at Clyde before Chelsea brought him for £5,000 in October 1952, a huge fee for the time. He joined the Reds in 1957 and brought stability to the defence almost immediately. The FA Cup winning goalkeeper for the Red's in 1959 made more than 120 appearances for the club between 1957 and 1961 Chic continued to live in Nottingham after his retirement from the game.
