Bill only made eight starting appearances for the Reds and eight more substitutions before moving to Meadow Lane where he went on to have a long career making 250 appearances betwen 1970 and 1976 for Notts County.

At the age of 60 Bill sadly died in April 2007 after a long battle with illness.
