Barry racked up 239 appearances for Forest from the wing and scored 33 goals between 1966 and 1973.

In his first season he helped the Reds reach the semi final of the FA Cup and finished runners up in Division One

The Trent End sang Bar-bar, ba-ba-ba, Barry Lyons, to the song I Can't Control Myself by The Troggs to accompany Barry's displays on the City Ground pitch.

He became a coach after his playing days ended and ended his career at York City in 1982
