Forest Managers

Andy Beattie

Andy replaced Billy Walker in 1960 after he had retired after 21 years as Forest manager.

It was a time of real change at the City Ground as the long serving club secretary Noel Watson who had been at the club since 1931 also retired. Andy worked under Ken Smales. The following year floodlights were installed at the City Ground for the first time and Forest experienced European football as they competed in the Inter City Fairs Cup, though they lost to Valencia 1-7 over two legs.

In 1963 Beatties side eached the 6th round of the FA Cup but lost to Southampton after 2 replays.

Andy resigned later that year and was replaced by Johnny Carey.
